When Internet Explorer breaks it can be hard to fix because you can’t just uninstall and reinstall it from the Control Panel like you can with Firefox or Chrome.
A problem that sometimes crops up is the inability to enter passwords information into the boxes on secure sites like banks or online shops – sites starting with HTTPS://
The following is worth a try:
- Create a system restore point before going any further.
- Open a command prompt (Press Windows+R to open the Run prompt and type CMD)
- Now enter the command REGSVR32 followed by the dll filename given below (e.g. regsvr32 softpub.dll for the first one)
Do each one in turn. This is a scattergun approach and some won’t need it but ignore the errors.
